Tysha, a resident of Alto, just outside Tyler, was named the grand prize winner of Fuel for a Year in DK and Alon’s Race2Win Sweepstakes in early September, a mobile racing game promotion that rewards customers with instant fuel prizes and a chance at the ultimate grand prize.

Tysha said she initially played Race2Win simply to try her luck, but quickly became hooked on the game itself. “I just wanted to try one of these sweepstakes y’all always have going on,” she said. “So I said, okay let me do it—and it was fun! You drive through and race, stop and get gas in the game where I usually fill up. I really liked it.”
When she received the message that she had won Fuel for a Year, her first reaction was disbelief. “I was so excited,” she said. “I had to re-read it again and again. Like… is this legit?! And then you guys were like, ‘Yes, it’s legit!’”
For Tysha, who fuels up often while working as a DoorDash driver, the prize means more than just a free tank. “It’s going to make a big difference—a huge difference,” she said. “I’m usually only putting $8 to $10 at a time. Now we can even go traveling somewhere. It really will change things.”
Tysha is a regular at her local station, where she fuels frequently and has built relationships with the team. “I always come here,” she said. “It’s a convenient location and I love the staff. They know me and I know them.”
And with a full year of fuel ahead, she already knew how she wanted to use it: creating memories. “I might take my baby out of town on a road trip and do something fun with her this weekend,” she said. “And stop and fill up here first.”
Throughout her interview, Tysha repeatedly emphasized how blessed she feels and how meaningful it was to be on the receiving end of something positive. “I’m always paying it forward,” she shared. “So it’s nice to finally be on the receiving end.”
About Race2Win
Race2Win ran from May 1 through August 31, inviting customers to play an exclusive mobile racing game where drivers “fuel up” at virtual DK and Alon stations to stay alive in the game, unlock score boosts, and climb the leaderboard. Along the route, players also had opportunities to instantly win fuel cards of various amounts—leading up to the grand prize of Fuel for a Year.
This year’s promotion delivered major engagement across the brand footprint, generating more than 18 million branded minutes and 26,295,731 in-game “fill ups” at virtual DK and Alon stations. In total, the sweepstakes produced 1,612 free fuel winners, including Tysha as the grand prize winner.
Tysha’s story is exactly what the promotion is designed to create — real excitement, real customer loyalty, and real impact in the communities DK and Alon serve, including the greater Tyler area, home to Delek’s Tyler refinery and a key growth market for the brand.
And as for anyone debating whether it’s worth entering? Tysha says it absolutely is. “Always try it out,” she said. “It’s worth the time—and you might just get lucky like me.”
