On January 29, 2026, the energy inside Moody Coliseum extended beyond the action on the court. During the ACU men’s basketball game against Utah Tech, Alon/DK brought the excitement courtside with an interactive in-game promotion designed to engage fans, celebrate community, and reinforce our commitment to Abilene.

That’s where the night took a memorable turn.
Our halftime contestant? A mustached freshman and his big group of friends cheering him on. When asked what he hoped to win, he didn’t hesitate: “Fuel for my row,” he said — hoping to impress his friends and earn a little extra cool factor. He stepped up to the wheel, gave it a confident spin… and landed on “Spin Again.” The crowd leaned in. On his second spin, he hit a $75 gift card that he can put toward purchases both inside and at the pump at his local DK or Alon stations.
In addition to participating in our promotion, he was also selected to play in the arena’s tug-of-war competition. Safe to say, it was his night.
While moments like that bring the fun, the impact goes deeper.
Promotions like this allow us to connect directly with the community we serve. We added new local contacts to our growing database — Abilene residents who now have a stronger connection to the Alon/DK brands.

For us, supporting ACU is about more than brand visibility. It’s about showing up for the same community that fuels our business. With refining operations in Big Spring and a strong presence across West Texas, we’re proud to be an American fuel brand investing back into the region we call home.
When local fans see Alon/DK supporting their university, engaging students, and giving back in tangible ways, it reinforces what we stand for: dependable fuel, strong partnerships, and USA-made commitment. For business owners and potential branded dealers in the Abilene area, it’s also a clear signal that we actively market and invest in the communities where our stations operate.
We’re proud to partner with ACU Athletics and look forward to creating more moments that bring energy — both on and off the court — to Abilene. Because at Alon/DK, fueling communities is just as important as fueling vehicles.
